Planning dinner in Puerto Vallarta? At Oscar’s, on Isla Río Cuale in the Zona Romántica, you dine under a palapa and at riverside tables where the Cuale River meets the bay, with some of the best sunsets in town and the lights of downtown just steps away.
Family-owned since 1997, we serve cosmopolitan and Mexican cuisine every night until 10 pm: lobster, Pacific seafood, grilled octopus and prime steaks, with signature cocktails and our own Grand Bay tequila. Reservations are recommended for sunset tables, and walk-ins are always welcome when we have space.

At Oscar’s everyone at the table eats well, so families and friends with different diets can share one dinner by the river.
- Kids menu: a menu made for little ones, so kids eat what they like while you enjoy yours. Families are always welcome.
- Vegetarian dishes, marked on the menu: The Guacamole, Mushroom Tamal with hoja santa, Roasted Peppers Hummus, Tortilla Soup, Oscars Sunset salad, grilled Caesar salad and our Wild Skewers of mushroom, cabbage and eggplant from the grill.
- Vegan: many of our vegetarian dishes can be prepared vegan. Just tell your server and our kitchen will adapt them for you.
- Gluten-free: dishes that contain gluten are marked on the menu, and our team can guide you.
Sunset Dinner by the River
For the best light, arrive about an hour before sunset. In Puerto Vallarta the sun sets around 6:15 pm in winter and close to 8 pm in summer, and Golden Hour 2×1 at our bar, every day from 4 to 6 pm, is the perfect start.
